Filming in Lincoln
We encourage filmmaking in Lincoln. It is a great backdrop for amateur films and TV dramas, and has even hosted a variety of blockbusters in recent years.
The diverse nature of the city, from Roman architecture to the pinnacle of modern design, from unique views to every day scenes, means Lincoln has something for all.
Recent large budget films shot in Lincoln include:
- The Da Vinci Code
- Possession
- The Young Victoria
The council has signed up to EM Media’s ‘Film Friendly’ initiative. Together with Lincolnshire County Council, Visit Lincolnshire and the Lincoln Business Improvement Group (BIG), every effort will be made to make the most of Lincoln as a filming location.
We own a number of historically important and visually appealing buildings in the city.
We also manage parks and open spaces in the city, including three areas of common land, two cemeteries and numerous play areas.
