Estate Inspections in Lincoln
We know it’s important to keep the area where you live clean, safe and pleasant. We aim to manage our land effectively, efficiently and consistently across the city.
We want to provide a service to our tenants that always meets the highest possible standards. One way we do this is by holding regular estate inspections.
Our estate inspections involve your local councillors, Lincoln Tenants Panel members and staff from across our housing teams. Sometimes other people attend including the police and community groups. Tenants are always welcome.
What happens during an estate inspection?
During estate inspections we walk around your estate, assess how well we have been maintaining your area, and identify things we can do to improve it.
We also:
- Assess actions we’ve taken during previous inspections
- Agree how to tackle issues we find while we’re there
- Identify tenancy breaches for further action.
After the inspection we follow up on issues we’ve found and give you feedback.
We look at things like:
- The general estate environment, such as footpaths, signage and lighting
- Standards of cleanliness, safety and security including fly tipping, litter, graffiti and abandoned vehicles.
- Blocks of flats to make sure they are clean, safe and secure. This includes drying areas, bin stores, footpaths and communal gardens
- Garage sites and car park areas to check they are safe, clean and maintained
- Grassed areas, communal planting and play areas to check they are safe, maintained and clean.
- Untidy or overgrown gardens, neighbour nuisance and evidence of crime or antisocial behaviour
