Changes in circumstances - businesses
If you have any changes in circumstances you must inform us by email revenues@lincoln.gov.ukor by calling 01522 873342.
Examples of common changes in circumstances are list below:
Moving in to a property
If you are moving in to a new business property, you will be requested to provide:
- Ratepayer’s name
- Company name
- Address of the property
- Your mailing address
- Date that you bought/rented the property
- Date that you occupied/will occupy the property from
- Telephone number
Moving out of a property
If you are moving out of a property, you will be requested to provide:
- Ratepayer’s name
- Company name
- Address of the property
- Date that you moved out
- If renting, date that your lease ended and landlord details
- If selling, sale date and new occupier details
Reporting Small Business Rate relief changes
The ratepayer taking up occupation of a property they did not occupy at the time of making their application for relief.
An increase in the rateable value of a property occupied by the ratepayer in an area other than the area of the local authority which granted the relief.
Other changes
The changes which must notify us of are:
You must tell us about any such changes within four weeks of the change happening. If you don’t your relief will be cancelled from the date of the change to the date you tell us about it. Remember it is a criminal offence to make a false claim.
You should let us know If any of your details have changed, for example:
- Mailing address
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Occupying/vacating your property
- Direct Debit details
- Name change
