Lincoln Live is back for another year, hosted by City of Lincoln Council and curated by BBC Introducing. It's set to be a vibrant celebration of the county and the wider area’s budding musical talent.

This year, the celebration will take place on 31 August and 1 September under the Events in Lincoln brand. The 2-day weekend event promises to be even bigger than last year with a main stage in Lincoln’s Cornhill Square and a brand-new ‘Lincoln Live Unplugged’ zone in St Paul in the Bail, brought to life by Southside Lincoln.

The uphill Unplugged zone will feature exclusively acoustic performances, with a line-up curated by Acoustic Nations Lincoln. This zone will offer an alternative style of music to the main stage on Cornhill Square, allowing for a more relaxed atmosphere across both days.

Another exciting addition for 2024 is a bar at the main stage supplied by the renowned local business, 8 Sail Brewery. Sipwell Events will be managing the bar, with 8 Sails brewery supplying a range of Ale craft brewed in the heart of Lincolnshire. There will also be spirits, a Lincoln Live-themed cocktail, and a selection of soft drinks.

Taking place between 1pm-8pm on Saturday 31 August, and 11am-4pm on Sunday 1 September, Lincoln Live will feature a 7m x 6m main stage at Cornhill Square, hosting a variety of Lincolnshire’s best under-the-radar musicians. Confirmed acts include River Drive, The Faith Estate, No Cash Refunds and Romy and The RHADs, and returning for a second year is Amber King. Further acts are to be announced ahead of this flagship Lincoln music event.

Cllr Joshua Wells, Portfolio Holder for Inclusive Economic Growth at City of Lincoln Council, said:

“Building on the success of last year’s Lincoln Live event, we are working with a growing number of local businesses in the city to provide opportunities to grow their presence and engage with the community.

"We look forward to seeing everyone come together to celebrate the end of summer with some fantastic music and entertainment at an event we hope will become a permanent fixture in our city’s annual calendar."

Dean Jackson, from BBC Music Introducing East Midlands, added:

"Last year's Lincoln Live was a wonderful event and received fantastic reviews from the enthusiastic audience and very happy artists!  I cannot wait for this year's extravaganza! It's been my pleasure to create the lineup from Lincoln's booming music scene as well as drawing some outstanding talent from further afield.

"It is a very special weekend and the perfect place to find your new favourite band. And all set in the Cornhill Quarter surrounded by great stores and delicious food! I’m beyond excited for Lincoln Live 2024!”

Emily Nichol, Operations Director at Southside, said:

“We're thrilled to be part of Lincoln Live this year. Following the success of our event in St Marks Garden last summer for Summer in the City, we're bringing that vibe to St Paul in the Bail. This year, as part of Lincoln Live, we've created a relaxed, unplugged space adorned with plants, rugs, disco balls, and sofas, all set in the beautiful Bailgate area. It's the perfect spot to unwind after enjoying the high-energy performances at Cornhill Square. We can't wait for everyone to experience it.”

Tony Pygott, Founder of 8 Sail Brewery, said:

“As a local business, 8 Sail Brewery is pleased to be involved with Lincoln Live this year, supporting local talent. A variety of Lincolnshire-brewed 8 Sail beers and lagers will be available along with a selection of ciders, wines, spirits, cocktails, low alcohol beers and soft drinks. Come along and join us for a weekend of music and local beverages.”

Lincoln Live is a free event for all ages. This end-of-summer celebration promises to be an unmissable weekend of sun, music, and community spirit.
