Steve Bond, Volunteer and People Development Manager at St Barnabas Hospice – “I recommend it. It’s a great way to benchmark against other local organisations and get some ideas of how you can focus more on your people and the community in which you operate.”
Tell us about St Barnabas Hospice
“St Barnabas Hospice is a local independent charity and every year we support more than 10,500 people across Lincolnshire with a life-limiting or terminal condition. We deliver free, high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients, their families and carers. We aim to enable them to live as fully as they are able for however many days, weeks or months they have left.”
Why did you sign up to the charter?
“We chose to sign up to the Lincoln Social Responsibility Charter as it appeared to be a good benchmark to measure ourselves against as an employer in Lincolnshire. Looking at the examples of socially responsible activities, it was obvious that we already ticked many of the boxes as standard practice.”
