Why did you choose to sign up to the charter?
Codal believes that Signing a Social Responsibility Charter benefits employees by fostering a purpose-driven work culture, which we feel increases engagement, and leads to improved retention. We support local communities through driving and developing our ethical business practices, increasing our sustainability efforts, and committing to more social initiatives that drive positive change.
We also believe that it helps to gain a stronger reputation, attract socially conscious consumers, and appeal to investors who prioritize ESG commitments.
Additionally, it supports us to stay up to date with regulations and potentially reduces legal risks, making corporate responsibility both a moral and strategic advantage.
Have you noticed any positive changes since undertaking a range of socially responsible activities?
Some of the voluntary work we have carried out has provided some positive feedback although we don't expect immediate changes. We believe that our socially responsible activities will contribute to long-term positive impacts.

Do you have any words for a business looking to sign up to the charter?
Align your initiatives with the values you believe in. It can be difficult to find areas that can, and are willing to accept the support you offer, but don't be put off by that. Develop a philanthropy team that are willing to go the extra mile, allow their enthusiasm to draw in the less enthused. And try to do different things that will appeal to eventually to everybody.
