NWCH was founded on 1st April 2017. Our founders felt there were gaps in the local community for supporting people’s mental health and wellbeing. They decided to create the Counselling Hub to fill those gaps. Their vision was to provide a central hub to support children, young people, adults, couples and families within Lincolnshire. NWCH's Mental Health Hub is doing exactly that.

NW Counselling Hub CIC aims to make counselling and mental health support as accessible to the community as possible. We are based in Lincoln, close to transport hubs, near the centre of town. We also have a number of funding options for our clients/potential clients.

Why did you choose to sign up to the charter?

We signed up to the charter as we felt that our ethos and values align to those within the charter, and we felt that by signing up to the charter, we were able to recognise the commitment that we have to our social responsibility, particularly within our own city, as well as being held accountable to our actions to maintain the standards.

Have you noticed any positive changes since undertaking a range of socially responsible activities?

NWCH have continued to meet the principles of the charter. Positive changes have included additional flexibility for our staff in their working patterns, reviews of fairness of wages, and supporting other local businesses and charities by utilising them for any needs that we have, where we can, for example for training venues, printing and IT.

Do you have any words for a business looking to sign up to the charter?

The social responsibility charter allows organisations to keep themselves accountable to ensuring that our local city is being considered in our actions, ideally providing an improved and sustainable future. It costs nothing, and brings numerous benefits to the city.
