Lincoln Social Responsibility Charter
LEAP is a local charity and social landlord that provides housing and support services to vulnerable people in Lincoln and Gainsborough who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We provide a range of accommodation from shared houses to self-contained units, flats, and family homes. Our beneficiaries have various vulnerabilities and support needs including mental health issues, self-harm and suicide support, offending history, family breakdown, young parents, etc. Housing Officers work with each individual on a Progression Plan supporting them with independent and basic living skills often working alongside other professional agencies.
Our team love to see people grow in confidence and self-esteem and there is nothing more rewarding than moving a vulnerable person on to their own accommodation as they complete their journey with us.
As a charity, we rely on others to help us raise the funds required to deliver the services that we provide. Over the years we have been supported by many organisations through their generous fund raising or in-kind support. Therefore, we do like to give back where we can too. Through support at local events, offering professional guidance to other charities to the over-and-above that we offer our beneficiaries such as sourcing bedding, toiletries, food parcels, furniture as well as our hardship fund for ad hoc things that make such a big difference. To us, joining the Charter was a No Brainer, it is a tool which allows us to shout about what we do for Lincoln, and we are proud to display our certificate on the wall and on our website.
This year, LEAP has reach it’s 30th year milestone. A great achievement for a local charity and we hope that local businesses may be able to help us in our mission to raise £30,000 this year! We are raising the funds to support us being able to erect Solar Panels onto the roofs of our Lincoln houses. Many of our properties are old town houses. They are houses of a good standard, but we need to improve their environmental efficiency, reduce our carbon footprint, and decrease costs for our beneficiaries.
Can your business help us with our mission? We are looking for as many local businesses as possible to each raise £100 for each decade that we have worked with vulnerable people. That is a total of just £300! That could be through dress down days, cake sales, sponsorship, competitions, or any other creative ideas that you can think of. Could your organisation do that?
