Local democracy week
Local Democracy Week takes place annually for one week every October. Events are held across Europe to promote local democracy, particularly among young people in schools and colleges.
The City of Lincoln Council is keen to promote local democracy within Lincoln and to engage with young people. By doing so the Council hopes to increase understanding and to encourage young people both to vote and consider becoming councillors in future.
While we will seek to organise events and activities wherever possible to reach the broadest audience, the Council welcomes any fresh ideas and approaches for promoting local democracy.
As a result, schools and other any other relevant organisations are invited to contact Democratic Services to discuss how we can work together to promote local democracy.
