Lodgers
A lodger is another person living in your home who isn’t named in your tenancy agreement.
If you are a secure tenant, you may take in lodgers. If you take in lodgers, you must inform us first and you must not overcrowd your home.
There are a few things you need to know about taking in lodgers:
• Your benefits may be reduced
• Your lodger will have no security of tenure, and we will not normally re-house your lodger if you want them to leave
• If you want your lodger to leave, we will not act on your behalf, and you should not evict a lodger without getting legal advice
