Donate your items to charity
If your item is in a good condition, (so that it can be resold) you can donate it to a local charity who will collect it for you for free.
Not only will you be helping to raise funds to local community projects and charity work but for large items this option will often work out cheaper than paying for a private company to collect them for you.
By donating your items to charity, and choosing not to send them to landfill, you are also benefiting the environment.
Here are some charities that accept donations and what types of items they accept:
British Heart Foundation (BHF)
Collects from Lincoln, Sleaford, Newark, Gainsborough, Retford, Market Rasen, Horncastle, Woodhall Spa and all areas between.

Must be in a good, clean and saleable condition. Must be in full working order. No bladed articles (for example, no lawnmowers). No computer equipment.
